The BeMoreKinky App Review: A BDSM App For Kinky Couples

This post is a paid collaboration with BeMoreKinky. As always, this review is honest and based on our real experience using the app.

BeMoreKinky is a BDSM and kink communication app for couples, designed to help you explore fantasies, preferences, boundaries and activities with your partner. It includes kink quizzes, activity matching, play proposals, in-app messaging and a whole Workshop section with games and tools designed to take some of those conversations into the bedroom.

I was interested in BeMoreKinky because it sits in a slightly different space from the sex toys I usually review. This is not a vibrator, suction toy or wearable app-controlled device. It won’t make you orgasm, but it is trying to solve a different problem: the fact that talking about sex, fantasies, boundaries and kink can feel much harder than actually doing any of it.

bondage safety tips

We are not in a formal Dom/sub relationship, although we do enjoy elements of that kind of play so I was curious to see how BeMoreKinky would work for us. Not as a full BDSM lifestyle tool, but as something for a sexually open couple who like some kink, some power play and some experimentation, without needing every shag to become a scene with notes, timings and a post-match analysis.

Because honestly, one of the things I really like about my sex life now is that it does not have to be a performance every time. We can have fun with dominance, submission, teasing, toys and trying new things, but it does not need to become a formal dynamic unless we both want it to.

So my question going in was fairly simple: is BeMoreKinky only useful if kink is already a big part of your relationship, or can it work for couples who are curious, occasionally kinky and open-minded, but not looking to turn sex into a full operating system?

What Is BeMoreKinky?

The BeMoreKinky App Review: A Playful App For Kinky Couples

You can use the BeMoreKinky app alone, but it is clearly designed for couples. Once connected, you can rate activities, compare interests, create play proposals, fill your Toy Box and use games and prompts together.

Instead of suddenly announcing over a cup of tea that you would like to discuss bondage, praise, restraint or whatever else has been lurking in your head, the app gives you something to react to together.

That is probably its biggest appeal. Sometimes it is much easier to say, ‘Oh, this came up in the app, what do you think?’ than it is to drag a fantasy out of your own head and place it carefully on the table like a weird little offering.

We spent a fair amount of time exploring BeMoreKinky and still only scratched the surface. Of the app, I mean. Not each other. New activities and features also seem to be added pretty rapidly, so this is a review of what we found while actually using it rather than an exhaustive guide to every feature.

Who Made BeMoreKinky?

Who Made BeMoreKinky?

BeMoreKinky was created by J and L, an anonymous couple based in central Europe who are part of the kink community themselves. J is described as the engineer and researcher behind the app, while L is responsible for the design and artwork.

They clearly have a good understanding of the D/s dynamic as the app puts a lot of emphasis on consent, aftercare, privacy and security, including encrypted chat, which feels particularly important when you are potentially sharing some extremely personal information.

Getting Started With The BeMoreKinky App

Getting Started With The BeMoreKinky App review

Getting started takes a little while. There are a lot of sections, categories, activities and tools, and I had to click around for a while before I properly understood what was where. That said, I would rather a kink app take consent, BDSM safety and boundaries seriously than behave like it is just a cheeky game of spicy dares.

It looks good too, with a dark, polished style and sensual rather than explicit illustrations. A few images did give me a slight AI-ish wobble though. In one, someone appeared to be having a collar put on in front of a mirror, but the reflection didn’t seem to show the collar or the hands. Once I noticed it, I couldn’t unsee it.

The Kink Quizzes And Activity Ratings

The Kink Quizzes And Activity Ratings

A big part of BeMoreKinky is exploring activities and answering quizzes about your interests. The prompts range from relatively gentle ideas through to specific BDSM dynamics, roleplay, fantasies and fetishes.

Some were interesting, some made us laugh and some got a very immediate no. I do not have a breeding kink, I do not want to call my partner Sir or Boss and some of the more formal D/s content simply does not fit how we have sex.

But that is really the point. BeMoreKinky is not there to tell you that you should like everything. Being able to mark something as a no, yes or maybe makes it easier to explore what you might enjoy without every possibility requiring a Big Conversation.

Sometimes, the prompts start conversations you might never have thought to have. It is much easier to react to something that has appeared on screen with ‘Ooh, yes actually’, ‘Maybe, but not like that’, or hysterical laughter because it is wildly not your thing.

Where it worked best for us was around light dominance and submission, teasing, toys, sensation and praise. More importantly, some of the other features then take those shared interests and turn them into things you can actually do together, rather than leaving you with an enormous list of things you have theoretically agreed you might fancy one day.

The Toy Box

The Toy Box

The Toy Box lets you record equipment you already own, want or definitely do not want, while your partner does the same.

In theory I love this. In practice, there is absolutely no chance I am cataloguing the full contents of my drawers unless BeMoreKinky would like to employ someone full time to do stock control.

There are some odd omissions too. I could not find something as basic as a dildo, despite there being plenty of more specialised BDSM equipment. You can add your own toys, though, and new content seems to be added regularly.

Importantly, the Toy Box is not just an inventory. We added toys we had available and The Path later suggested using a vibrator on each other, so your choices appear to feed into other parts of the app.

The Workshop: Games For Couples

The Workshop is where BeMoreKinky becomes much more than a quiz and compatibility app and becomes more entertaining. At the time of testing, it included The Path, a Punishment Wheel, Truth or Dare and the Toy Box previously mentioned.

Playing The Path

The Path is a structured couples game that takes around 30 minutes and gradually moves through different ‘zones’ of intensity.

Before starting, you mark anything you do not want to do that particular session. I really like this because sexual preferences are not always permanent yes/no answers. You might normally enjoy anal play but be having a day when your digestive system has other ideas, and even the most communicative couple probably does not want to begin a sexy evening with a detailed briefing on the current state of everybody’s colon.

Likewise, you might normally enjoy having photos taken but not feel body confident that day. There are things I enjoy that depend enormously on my mood too. Degradation can be very hot at the right time. At certain points in the month, say the wrong thing and there is every chance I will just cry.

The BeMoreKinky Workshop: Games For Couples

Being able to quietly take something off the list means ‘not tonight’ does not have to mean ‘I never like this’.

You also agree on what BeMoreKinky calls a ‘Pause Word’ before starting, then roll the dice, move around the board and follow the cards. Early tasks included spending ten seconds with our foreheads together without kissing and pinning hands for ten seconds.

It felt slightly cringeworthy at first, but the game works much better if you both stop taking the piss, relax into it and do what you are told.

The activities then become progressively more sexual, from licking a thigh and sharing what you think about when you masturbate to oral sex, using a vibrator and edging. I could not be bothered with the edging, but you can skip any card.

At ‘gates’ along the route, both partners choose whether to stay at the same level, ‘take it up a zone’ or end the game. Consent is built into the whole thing rather than assumed at the beginning. Timed activities also have an on-screen countdown.

Playing The Path on BeMoreKinky

Eventually you reach The Vault, where you choose an ending, followed by an aftercare screen where you can share how you feel.

The Path was one of my favourite parts of BeMoreKinky. The gradual escalation actually works, and the combination of temporary boundaries, a Pause Word, regular check-ins and the ability to skip anything you do not fancy makes it feel structured without being bossy.

For me, The Path game was one of the best parts of BeMoreKinky. It might feel slightly cringeworthy for the first few minutes, particularly if you are not used to structured intimacy games, but if you relax into it and agree to play properly, the gradual escalation can work very well.

The Punishment Wheel And Truth Or Dare

The Punishment Wheel initially seemed rather badly named. One of my options was a 15-minute sensual massage, which frankly does not sound like much of a punishment for either of us.

Then I discovered you can switch it to punishment-only mode, which produced things like kneeling and not being allowed to use the furniture. Considerably more deserving of the name, and considerably less my cup of tea.

You can also add your own punishments and rewards, which makes it much more useful. What one couple considers punishment might be somebody else’s idea of an excellent Tuesday night.

There is also a simpler Truth or Dare game with around 100 cards, ranging from ‘tell me…’ questions to sexual dares. It is a good option if you fancy playing something together without committing to the full 30-minute Path.

Play Proposals And Planning Sex

Play Proposals And Planning Sex using BeMoreKinky

BeMoreKinky also lets you create play proposals, combining activities with toys or equipment from your Toy Box before sending the plan to your partner.

I like that this takes some pressure off initiation. You can essentially say, ‘Here is something I would like to try’, and let your partner accept, adjust or reject it without anyone having to guess.

For couples who enjoy planned scenes, anticipation or more structured D/s dynamics, I can see this being really useful. For us, it would probably be an occasional tool rather than something we use regularly.

Sometimes planning creates anticipation. Sometimes it makes sex feel like Outlook has got involved.

The Partner Comparison Could Be Clearer

One of my criticisms is how BeMoreKinky compares quiz results. It shows your scores alongside your partner’s, but does not always explain whether differences actually make you incompatible. If I lean submissive in an area and Jack leans dominant, our answers are different but potentially extremely compatible. The same applies to giving and receiving, praise, restraint and plenty of other activities.

I would like the app to do more to distinguish between genuinely conflicting preferences and differences that actually complement each other.

In-App Messaging And Notifications

BeMoreKinky has encrypted in-app messaging, which is reassuring when you are potentially discussing some very private things.

Unfortunately, I did not get obvious notifications for new messages, even while using the app, so I could easily miss something Jack had sent unless I checked the chat manually. That makes it less useful for spontaneous flirting and anticipation than it could be.

AI, Labs And Extra Features

There are also educational resources, habit tracking and AI-assisted tools, although these were not the parts of the BeMoreKinky app which I found most interesting.

I have mixed feelings about bringing AI too far into sex and kink. For me, the useful part of this app is discovering what you and your partner actually want, not outsourcing the interesting bit to a robot with a thesaurus and a leather Pinterest board. I was much more interested in the features that encouraged actual interaction between us.

What I Liked

  • Strong focus on consent and changing boundaries, rather than assuming a ‘yes’ always means yes.
  • The Path was surprisingly good fun and escalated at a comfortable pace.
  • Lots of customisation, including the Toy Box and your own punishments and rewards.
  • It genuinely prompted conversations and activities we might not otherwise have tried

What I Didn’t Like

  • There is so much going on that the app can initially feel overwhelming.
  • The Toy Box has some strange omissions, including dildos.
  • Partner comparisons need more explanation of complementary preferences.
  • Chat notifications were easy to miss. Some of the artwork and AI elements made me raise an eyebrow.

How Much Does BeMoreKinky Cost?

The app is free to download and trial around 250 activities, but if you want to use the premium features, games etc you will need to upgrade to a paid membership. This costs each partner $40 per year ($3.30 a month) or you can subscribe on a monthly basis for $8, which seems very reasonable given the amount of content and the regular updates and additions.

If you’re not sure, download the free version and see how you get on. Then buy a month and see if the full app works for you!

Final Verdict On The BeMoreKinky App

BeMoreKinky was bigger and more useful than I expected.

You absolutely do not need to be spending your weekends suspended from the ceiling of a dungeon to get something from it. We enjoy kink as part of sex rather than being in a formal D/s relationship, and there was still plenty here for us.

Some features were not remotely our thing, but that is rather the point. You can explore what interests you, rule out what does not and even change those boundaries depending on what you fancy that particular day.

BeMoreKinky App

The Path was the biggest surprise. What initially felt slightly cringeworthy turned into a genuinely fun way to spend half an hour together, with enough structure to push us to actually follow the activities without making the whole thing feel too serious.

I do not need BeMoreKinky to organise my entire sex life, and it certainly has not made me want to start calling my partner Sir or schedule sex like a meeting invite. But I can see us using The Path again, dipping into the prompts or pulling out one of the Workshop tools when we fancy something different.

If you are curious about kink or simply want an easier way to talk about and try new things together, BeMoreKinky is worth a look.
