Frequently Asked Questions About Sex Toy Reviews

Frequently Asked Questions About Sex Toy Reviews

Who are you?

We’re Tammy and Jack, a thirty-something couple living in London. By day we work in fairly ordinary marketing jobs. By night we test sex toys, argue about vibration settings, and write brutally honest reviews so other people don’t waste their money on disappointing gimmicks wrapped in pastel packaging.

Are your sex toy reviews honest?

Yes. Every review on Sex Toy Reviews is based on real testing and proper research. If a toy is brilliant, we’ll happily say so. If it’s overpriced, weak, badly designed or giving suspicious dropshipping energy, we’ll say that too.

We’re not interested in pretending every product is life-changing just because it has a luxury box.

How do you test sex toys?

We test toys in real-world use, looking at things like power, noise levels, comfort, build quality, battery life, app performance and whether the product actually delivers what the marketing claims promise.

We also pay close attention to materials and safety.

Are expensive sex toys actually better?

Sometimes yes. Sometimes absolutely not. More expensive sex toys often have better motors, safer materials, improved warranties and stronger quality control. But there are also plenty of overpriced products relying heavily on branding and aesthetics.

One of the goals of this site is helping people work out what’s genuinely worth paying for and what’s essentially the same factory toy with a different logo and a high price tag.

What is the best sex toy you’ve reviewed so far?

That completely depends on what you enjoy. For women, clitoral suction toys are some of the most consistently powerful options for external stimulation, while wand vibrators are ideal if you prefer deep, rumbly power. Rabbit vibrators, app-controlled toys and G-spot vibrators all offer very different experiences.

For men, we’ve tried everything from disposable masturbators to high-spec machines.

Our reviews and buying guides are designed to help you find what actually suits your body and preferences, rather than the latest TikTok fad.

Are you paid to do this?

Dream job, right? Unfortunately, no. However, sometimes we may be sent free toys to review and often we use affiliate links, so if you click through our links and buy something from Lovehoney, My Dungeon, SexToys.co.uk, Rocks Off, Biird, Bed Nerdz, XXXEssentials or another of our affiliates, we may earn a small percentage on the sale. Affiliate income helps keep the site running and allows us to continue testing products properly.

You can see a full list of affiliates on our Discounts page, where we also share sex toy discount codes.

Do you sell your review samples?

Sometimes, yes. We keep plenty of toys for comparison photos, long-term testing and roundup updates, but we cannot keep everything forever without turning the house into a silicone storage unit.

Our Sex Toy Sample Sale includes discounted review samples, duplicates and occasional unused toys. Every listing clearly states the condition, whether it has been tested or used, and what is included.

Are sex toys safe to use?

High-quality sex toys made from body-safe materials like silicone, ABS plastic and stainless steel are completely safe when used correctly. We strongly recommend avoiding porous or unlabelled materials from unknown marketplaces, particularly for insertable toys. Safety, cleaning and material quality are things we take very seriously in our reviews.

Do you review toys for beginners?

Absolutely. Not everybody wants a £300 Bluetooth thrusting machine. We have plenty of beginner-friendly guides covering simple, easy-to-use sex toys that are ideal for first-time buyers, nervous shoppers and people who just want something straightforward that works.
