First of all, try not to panic. Children are naturally curious, and sometimes they pick up objects without really understanding what they are.
If a child does find a toy, the best approach is usually to keep things simple. Younger children can be told it’s an adult gadget or something that belongs to mum or dad. Older children may understand a slightly more honest explanation without needing all the details.
The important thing is not to turn it into a big drama because kids pick up on that stuff and if they can see that it’s bothered you, they may not let it go for some time!
