I have reached the point in reviewing sex toys where I occasionally open a box and wonder exactly how I’m going to find 1,000 words to say about the contents, and the Lovense Gemini may be one of those products:
They are vibrating nipple clamps. You attach them to your nipples. Your nipples vibrate.
Review over.
Except that would be slightly unfair, because while the concept is incredibly straightforward, Lovense has actually done quite a good job with the bits that matter. They cost around £70/$100, so they’re an investment over a cheap pair of metal clamps, but they also do a lot more.

What Are Nipple Clamps And Why Use Them?

Nipple clamps grip the nipples to add pressure and extra sensation during sex or solo play. They are also commonly associated with BDSM, where they can be used as part of sensation play, restraint or power exchange, although you certainly don’t need to be into BDSM to enjoy them.
Some people like the squeeze itself, while others enjoy the increased sensitivity that comes with it. They range from fairly brutal metal clamps to softer, adjustable designs like the Gemini, which also add vibration for extra stimulation.
What Are The Lovense Gemini Nipple Clamps?

Lovense Gemini are Bluetooth vibrating nipple clamps which can be controlled manually or through the Lovense Remote app.
They look a bit like two tiny pink lobster claws attached by wires to a central control unit. I don’t know whether ‘lobster claws for your nipples’ was in the original design brief, but once you’ve seen it I don’t think you can unsee it.
The charge via a magnetic USB charger. Each clamp contains a vibrating pad which sits against the nipple, while the clamp itself holds it in position. The important bit is that the pressure is adjustable.
That makes Gemini quite different to the old nipple clamps I already owned, which are less forgiving. I have to be honest, I didn’t like those very much. I enjoy a bit of sensation during BDSM play, but I do not want painful metal clips trying to permanently reshape my nipples. Maybe you do, and I’m not judging but it’s not for me.
The Gemini clamps are much more padded and you can adjust the smallest opening by tightening or loosening the screw underneath, which means you can have them holding on without crushing everything in their path. If you enjoy more pressure, you can tighten them further.
Even taking into account to the rechargeable vibrations and app connectivity, that adjustability is probably their best feature.
Are They Comfortable?

Surprisingly, yes.
As mentioned, I am not someone who particularly enjoys painful nipple play, and having breastfed two babies may also have permanently altered my relationship with the idea of nipple stimulation. My nipples have served their country and they are not necessarily looking for additional hobbies.
But I can comfortably wear the Gemini.
The pads are soft, the pressure is easy to alter and they stay attached without needing to be painfully tight.
Lovense also includes a bra clip and necklace-style attachment for supporting the control unit, rather than leaving it dangling from the clamps. The official instructions specifically recommend using one of these to keep Gemini in position if you’re moving around, or using them in public, rather than lying down in the privacy of your own bedroom.
And Do Vibrating Nipples Do Anything For Me?

This is where reviews become extremely personal and you need to take what I say with a pinch of salt.
The vibration is perfectly noticeable. The Gemini nipple clamps work exactly as advertised, I’m just not completely convinced after playing that vibrating nipples are something I desperately needed in my life.
If your nipples are already a major erogenous zone, and for plenty of people they absolutely are, I can absolutely see the appeal. You’re taking something you already enjoy and adding controllable vibration to it.
For me, it is pleasant rather than earth-shattering, but that is not really a criticism of Gemini. There isn’t some hidden setting Lovense could add that would suddenly transform my nipples into the centre of my sexual universe.
They vibrate, and they do it well; whether you care is going to depend enormously on your body.
Using Gemini Nipple Clamps With The Lovense App

Connection was extremely easy; you load up the Lovense Remote App, turn the toy on, and it appears in your list ready to be controlled by you or a partner.
The Lovense Remote app itself has had something of an overhaul since I first started using Lovense toys back with the Lush 4, adding even more features which make it seem like a horny social network.
There are feeds, social features, games and you can collect coins for logging in regularly.
I will be honest, I do not need a sex-toy streak like Duolingo, but there is clearly an audience for all of this. Lovense has an enormous presence among online performers and interactive toy users, so it isn’t difficult to see why the company keeps building social and interactive features into its ecosystem.
Fortunately, you can ignore almost all of it.
Tap Toy at the bottom of the app, choose Remote, and you’re back in the bit I actually want: controlling my sex toys.
From there you can change the vibration level and patterns easily, or hand control over to somebody else.
You don’t have to use the app either. Gemini can be switched on manually by holding the button for three seconds, while tapping the button cycles through its vibrations.
Gemini As Part Of The Lovense Ecosystem

On their own, Gemini are decent, comfortable nipple clamps that vibrate, but add another Lovense toy and you can start creating a much more involved setup.
I’ve now accumulated a small Lovense army including the Lush 4 vibrating love egg, Ferri panty vibrator, Fizz clitoral suction toy and Domi 2 wand, and multiple toys can be controlled through the same ecosystem.
Paired with a bed restraint system and the Domi 2 wand, you have a very decent BDSM forced-orgasm set up on your hands.
And because both Gemini and toys such as the Lush 4 and Ferri are wearable, there’s potential for public sex play too, assuming you are somewhere appropriate, suitably clothed and not involving unsuspecting members of the public in your sex life.
For couples in different locations, remote control is also one of the more obvious reasons to buy Gemini. Lovense’s connected toys are designed to allow remote interaction rather than limiting control to normal Bluetooth distance. Independent long-distance toy guides have consistently highlighted that kind of remote functionality as one of Lovense’s strengths and it is certainly the best app-controlled brand we’ve trialled.
Cleaning The Lovense Gemini
This bit is pleasantly uncomplicated. Lovense says Gemini can be cleaned with warm water and mild unscented soap or sex-toy cleaner. The current documentation gives Gemini an IPX6 water-resistance rating, so rinsing them isn’t a problem.

Obviously, pay particular attention to the actual clamp pads because they are the parts sitting directly against your skin. But given what they are and where they’re used, they’re not likely to get covered in lube or fluids anyway. Right?! Oh god what am I even saying.
Anyway, whatever you get up to, they’re easy to clean.
Lovense Gemini Review: The Verdict

The Lovense Gemini are comfortable, adjustable vibrating nipple clamps. They connect easily to an excellent remote-control system, they’re simple to use and they do precisely what Lovense says they will do.
The padded adjustable clamps are what elevate them above basic nipple clamps. My old clamps hurt enough that I had to admit that although I liked the concept, I didn’t enjoy wearing them. With Gemini I can reduce the pressure considerably while still keeping them securely attached.
If nipple play is already your thing, I think Gemini are genuinely good. If it isn’t, they probably won’t be the £69-ish revelation that turns you into a nipple person, but Gemini gives you hands-free vibration, partner control and long-distance control in a much more sophisticated package than ordinary vibrating clamps.
I’d be more tempted by Gemini if I already owned other Lovense toys, too. Being able to combine them with something like the Lush 4 or Domi 2 wand gives them considerably more potential than using the clamps alone.
Lovense Gemini Vibrating Nipple Clamps FAQ
Yes. You can switch the Gemini on manually by holding the button for three seconds, then tap the button to cycle through the vibration settings. You only need the app if you want more control, custom patterns, partner control or long-distance play.
They do not have to. The clamps are padded and the pressure is adjustable, so you can set them to grip quite gently or tighten them if you prefer more pressure. I found them considerably more comfortable than traditional metal nipple clamps.
Yes. Your partner can control the vibrations through the Lovense Remote app, including from another location.
Yes. Gemini can be used alongside other Lovense toys such as the Lush 4, Ferri, Fizz or Domi 2, which is one of the biggest advantages of buying into the Lovense ecosystem.
I think so, particularly because the clamp pressure is adjustable. If you are curious about nipple clamps but do not fancy having your nipples aggressively squashed, Gemini are a much friendlier introduction than many traditional designs.
They are rated IPX6 water-resistant, so they can be rinsed for cleaning and should cope with splashes, but I would not treat them as a toy designed for full underwater use.
