Let’s not beat around the bush: For an RRP of £300, you really want a sex toy that’s going to knock you sideways. One that puts you into an immediate orgasm-coma. The website says that the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator offers ‘an orgasm of great intensity, followed by profound emotional release’…
But does it? Let’s review it and find out.
This elegant sex toy arrived less than 24 hours after I was told it was coming (thanks, LELO!) and I think it’s fair to say that my excitement was palpable. I mean, did you read the thing about profound emotional releases?!

Well, there is a very specific kind of disappointment that comes from unboxing a beautiful-looking sex toy and then realising it’s completely dead. So before anything else, just know this arrives uncharged. Which is sensible from a not-exploding-in-the-post point of view, and entirely expected, but deeply inconvenient when you’re excited and want to get cracking.
Once it’s charged though, the ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator makes a strong first impression. Let’s dive in!

First Impressions: Big, Expensive, and Not Messing About

The first thing you will notice when unboxing the LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator for the first time is the size, because this is not a discreet toy. Although under 200g, it’s noticeably bigger than the similarly functioning Womanizer Blend or Lovehoney Indulge, which aren’t exactly tiny.
If you’re used to smaller toys, to look at this might feel a bit intimidating but be assured that the internal bit is totally manageable, even if you’re not into girthy penetration; it’s much smaller than the shaft on similar dual stimulation toys like the MythToy Muse, and much more flexible.
Despite its surprising size, it looks incredible.
Sleek, shiny, modern, properly premium. It very much looks like something that costs a lot of money, which is fortunate, because it does.

It also feels well made in a way that’s hard to fake. Solid without being heavy, smooth without being slippery, and generally like something that isn’t going to give up on you after six months – and with a ten-year warranty, LELO are pretty confident it won’t either.
Design & Features: More Than Just Vibrations
One of the more interesting things about the ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator is how it handles internal stimulation.
Rather than just relying on standard vibration, there’s what feels like more of a deliberate ‘thumping’ or tapping-style motion which is in fact LELO’s DeepSonic™ technology. This is aimed at the A-spot, which I’d not even heard of before, even as someone who reviews sex toys (if not for a living, then for a very intense hobby).
The A-spot, I’ve now learned, is known as the female prostate and sits behind the G-spot. You can find out about it on the LELO Website, should you wish.

Did the ENIGMA hit the a-spot? I confess, I don’t know. But I do know it’s definitely different to a lot of mid-range dual stimulators which meekly vibrate.
The internal arm also feels way more flexible than similar toys, which makes positioning a bit easier and gets rid of any worries you might have about it not quite fitting your anatomy (which I totally get, by the way. Been there). You’re not fighting it to get the ENIGMA Double Sonic where you want it, which is always a bonus.
Externally, the other side does exactly what you’d expect from a premium clitoral stimulator. Strong, consistent, and easy to control, the sensations from the sonic waves certainly rival any of my other clitoral suction toys with ease.
Tick and tick.
The only thing worth noting is that you can’t control the suction and vibrator independently. In modes 2 and 3 you can use one at a time with the other off entirely, but if they’re both in use, using the + and – buttons will affect both.
Oh, and yes. It’s made of body-safe materials, it has a travel lock (hold down + and – for three seconds), it comes with a pouch and USB charger, and you can clean it under the tap because it’s waterproof.

I mean… of course it is.
App Control & Usability
The app control works smoothly, which shouldn’t be a standout feature at this price point, but unfortunately often is. Admittedly, the app reviews aren’t great, but they’re based on many iterations over the years. I’ve personally never experienced problems with the current app connectivity which I’ve used for the LELO SONA 3 and the LELO Switch with no issues at all, although as there is no video chat capability I wouldn’t place it at the top of my list of app-controlled toys for long-distance couples.
Connection is straightforward; you press the centre button until it flashes and lo! it will connect. The controls are responsive, and you’re not left wondering whether it’s going to disconnect mid-use, which is more than can be said for some competitors.
To be honest I skip past most of the settings and head to manual. You can have both internal and external stimulation working steadily, one at a time or one working steadily and the other pulsing in various patterns.

As per the manual settings, you can’t control the intensity of the internal/external motors separately, which does seem a shame, although you can choose from the 8 settings and select from 8 intensities to find something that you enjoy.
In terms of positioning, it’s surprisingly manageable given the size, and it’s certainly not too girthy or rigid. Once it’s in place, it stays there, and you’re not constantly readjusting, which makes a big difference in actual use. You can use it from any position you like and it’s going to hit the right spots.
Performance: Very Good, No Question

In terms of what it actually does, the ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator is very, very good. It’s not particularly quiet (if you’re looking for quiet sex toys, try this list) and it isn’t discreet, but boy, it is powerful.
The combination of the sonic clitoral stimulation and that more targeted internal motion works really well, and it feels like a more refined experience than cheaper alternatives; it’s not just throwing vibration at you and hoping for the best.
The resulting orgasms are what I would describe as absolutely mind-blowing, and surprisingly long lasting. They seem to go and go. I managed to knock out three in very quick succession, then needed a nap, so the orgasm-coma I was hoping for? Completed it mate.

But… Is It Worth £300?
We do, unfortunately, need to talk about the price. It would be very remiss of me to gloss over the fact that, at full RRP (which I maintain you should never pay. Wait for a sale) the ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator is a £300 sex toy.
And that’s where things get complicated. Not because it doesn’t perform, but because you have to decide what £200 worth of improvement actually looks like. Cards on the table, I’m very unlikely to spend £300 on anything unless I can drive it, live in it, or which involves an aeroplane.
But realistically, the people buying this aren’t choosing between this sex toy and paying their electricity bill. They’re likely to be choosing between this and another £300 toy, or at least between this and something like the Blend, or another mid-range dual stimulator that already does a decent job.

And that’s the real comparison that matters.
Expectations of the LELO Brand
I do consistently find myself coming back to LELO. Their toys are easy to use, the app is reliable, and everything feels well made without being overcomplicated.
More importantly, they actually get used regularly. Their SONA 3 clitoral stimulator is often my go-to for solo use, and their Switch magic wand is what we reach for during partnered play. They work, they’re easy, and I don’t have to think about them.

So the bar for the ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator isn’t just ‘is it good?’ It’s ‘does it earn a place alongside those?’
Is The ENIGMA Double Sonic Worth It?
So…?
It’s better. It’s more refined. It feels more premium. Is it exactly three times better than something that costs a third of the price? Probably not. That’s not how things work.

So the decision comes down to how much you value that extra level of quality, design, and experience, and minute-long, shaking orgasms.
If you’re happy with “very good” rather than “f*cking mindblowing”, you can spend a lot less and still be perfectly happy
But, backed into a corner, I’m going to throw caution to the wind and say YES. If you have the money, and particularly if you can find it on sale (at the time of writing, the ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator is £215ish on the LELO website) then it might be the best money you’ve spent on your own pleasure.
It will definitely be making its way into my list of Best Sex Toys for Women.
LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic V. Mid-Range Dual Stimulators
Feature | Mid-Range Dual Stimulators (e.g. Blend) | |
|---|---|---|
Price | ~£220–£300 | ~£70–£120 |
Clitoral Stimulation | DeepSonic™ suction (strong & precise) | Standard suction (good, less refined) |
Internal Stimulation | Thumping / wave-style motion | Traditional vibration |
Flexibility | Very flexible, easy to position | More rigid, can need adjusting |
App Control | Yes (reliable) | Sometimes / often basic or none |
Ease of Use | Very easy once positioned | Varies, often more fiddly |
Orgasm Intensity | Extremely strong, fast results | Very good, but less intense |
Value for Money | Debatable | Excellent |
The ENIGMA is clearly the better performer, but whether it’s worth paying two to three times the price is something really only you and your budget can decide.

Who is The LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator For?
I’d say this is for a busy woman who wants an intense orgasm quickly, with minimal effort and no faffing about.
Once it’s in place, it does the work for you. You’re not adjusting angles, switching settings constantly, or trying to coax something out of it. It’s efficient, effective, and very much geared towards getting the job done properly.
Who is it Not For?
If you’re thinking of this as something to use with a partner, manage your expectations; you’re probably not getting much of a look in.
It works quickly, it’s quite full-on, and it doesn’t exactly invite collaboration. This is less “shared experience” and more “you can watch if you like”. This operates too fast. It’s really a spectator sport.
Also if you want to be able to control the stimulators separately, then this isn’t the toy for you as the + and – buttons control both simultaneously.

LELO ENIGMA Double Sonic Dual Stimulator FAQ
Is the LELO ENIGMA worth the money?
The ENIGMA is one of the most powerful and refined dual stimulation toys available. However, at around £300, it’s a premium purchase. If you want the best and don’t mind paying for it, it delivers. If you’re happy with “very good”, there are cheaper alternative like the Womanizer Blend and the Lovehoney Indulge that still perform well.
What does the ENIGMA do differently?
Unlike most dual stimulators that rely on vibration, the ENIGMA uses LELO’s DeepSonic™ technology to create a more targeted, thumping-style internal stimulation, combined with strong clitoral suction.
Is the LELO ENIGMA easy to use?
Yes. Despite its size, it’s surprisingly easy to position and stays in place well. The app control is also smooth and reliable, which makes adjusting settings straightforward.
Can you use the ENIGMA with a partner?
Technically yes, but it’s not really designed for shared use. It works quickly and intensely, so it tends to be more of a solo experience. In terms of anal/double penetration with a partner, it would be tricky to position the ENIGMA properly.
Can you use the ENIGMA with a butt plug?
You can use the ENIGMA with a butt plug such as the Surfer 2, but it’s very tricky to get the clitoral stimulator in the correct place, so I would say probably choose a different toy if you want anal play.
Is the LELO ENIGMA good for beginners?
Probably not. It’s large, powerful, a tad noisy, and quite intense. Beginners may be better starting with a smaller or less expensive dual stimulator or a simple clitoral suction toy such as the LELO SONA 3, before upgrading.
Does the ENIGMA arrive charged?
No. It arrives uncharged, so you’ll need to charge it fully before first use.

My wife loves the cruse 1 & 2 was about to buy 3 is this better than the 3 buy itself
I’m afraid I haven’t tried out the Cruz, just the SONA 3. This is a very different toy because you’ve got the double stimulation – it’s like using the Sona 3 with an extra G-Spot vibrator. It might be a bit much for everyday use, but it’s definitely very very effective – I use both depending on my mood.
