Womanizer Next Premium Clitoral Suction Toy Review: Worth It?

If you’ve spent any time looking at clitoral suction toys, you’ll know the Womanizer name comes with a certain level of expectation. Premium price, sleek design, and a lot of confident promises about performance.

So the real question is whether the Womanizer Next actually does anything new, or if it’s just another expensive addition to the category of clitoral suction toys that’s already very crowded.

Short answer: it’s not reinventing the wheel, but it’s doing a lot of things better than most.

If you want a clitoral suction toy that’s powerful but actually easy to use (especially during sex), this is one of the best options out there.

The Womanizer Next Review - premium clitoral suction toy

What is the Womanizer Next?

The Womanizer Next is a premium clitoral suction toy designed purely for external stimulation. Instead of traditional vibration, it uses air pulses to stimulate the clitoris without direct contact, which tends to feel deeper and less numbing than classic vibrators. You can read about how clitoral suction toys work here, and how they differ to vibrators here.

If you’ve used a clit sucker before, you’ll know the general idea. What this one focuses on is control, usability, and smoothing out some of the more annoying quirks that other toys still haven’t quite solved.

Features and Controls

One of the biggest complaints you’ll see in reviews isn’t about how it works, but about the buttons. And to be fair, there are more of them than you’d usually get; you’ve got four on the front and one on the back. It looks like a lot, but once you actually use it, it’s pretty intuitive.

There’s the on/off button, which… turns it on and off.

Then you have a plus and a minus button to control intensity. You can either tap those to adjust gently or hold them down to ramp things up quickly or drop back to the lowest setting. Pressing both together toggles the Smart Silence feature on and off.

Smart Silence is the contact sensor, and it’s one of my favourite things about this toy. With Smart Silence turned on, the Womanizer Next only works when it’s actually touching your body, so if you’re using it during sex and put it down for a second it just cuts out. No fumbling around for buttons, no breaking the moment, no annoying background buzzing while you’re getting down to it.

It does mean that if your partner rolls onto it, it can suddenly spring back to life and make you both laugh, which is not exactly seamless but is quite funny. I imagine this feature is also useful if you’re a parent trying to get a bit of me-time with the risk of kids wandering in.

If Smart Silence is on and it’s not being used, it will switch itself off after 30 minutes, which is an excellent feature and saves you coming back to a dead toy.

There’s also the Climax Control button, which adjusts the depth of the air pulses. There are three settings, shown by LEDs, and it does make a noticeable difference. I found the highest setting a bit much, which surprised me because I thought I’d want as much pressure as possible. Turns out I don’t, but I like that it gives me somewhere to work up to.

On the front, at the bottom, there’s another button that’s quite easy to miss. This activates Autopilot mode. You press and hold to turn it on, then tap to cycle through soft, medium and intense modes, indicated by how quickly the LEDs pulse.

For me, this mode seems largely pointless. I want to be able to control the intensity, not have it suddenly ramp up or cool down when I’m enjoying it. I’ve often expressed how I hate patterns on vibrators, and this is basically what this is, so I doubt I’ll be using it in future.

Apart from the autopilot mode, there are no patterns. Did I mention? I hate patterns. I NEVER want patterns. And I certainly don’t want to accidentally press a button and lose my O while cycling through modes trying to get back to the one I liked. This is simple. You set the intensity and it stays there.

It’s also waterproof, rechargeable and everything you’d expect from a top-spec sex toy.

Design and First Impressions

The Womanizer Next is bigger than most other suction toys. In the photo above, it’s the dark purple one, and you can see straight away that it’s chunkier than everything else around it with perhaps the exception of the much cheaper Satisfyer Pro 2.

That does have an impact. It’s less discreet, a bit more to manoeuvre during partnered use, and not the one you’d casually throw into a handbag. But it also makes it easier to hold and position, and combined with the contact sensor, I think it still ends up being one of the most user-friendly options.

The mouth is one of the biggest (although it comes with a smaller nozzle for those that prefer it), which I found comfortable and easy to position. I feel like this makes it easier to use during sex when you might be moving around a bit more.

It feels premium in the hand, the silicone is soft, and it doesn’t have that slightly hollow, plasticky feel you sometimes get with cheaper toys like the Lovehoney Romp Switch (above, left, in light purple). Don’t get me wrong, for under £30 the Romp is a good buy, but it’s like comparing a Daschund to a Great Dane.

(If you’re more Daschund than Great Dane and wondering what you’re doing here, I’ve a round up of the best cheap clitoral suction toys here!).

The main buttons are on the back of the toy, unlike the Sona where they’re on the front, and the Namii where they’re on the bottom. I’m not sure which I prefer but it’s worth noting!

What Comes In The Box

Inside the box (which contains no single use plastic, by the way. Go Womanizer!) is the toy itself, a magnetic charging cable, two interchangeable nozzles, the usual pouch and paperwork and a sticker that says ‘I MASTURBATE’ which I encourage you to stick on your work laptop.

The spare/extra nozzle or ‘mouth’ is a nice touch. If one doesn’t feel quite right, you can switch it out for the other. I found the original perfectly comfortable, but it’s good to have the option. Removeable mouths also mean you can sterilise them properly.

Charging and Battery

The Womanizer Next charges in about two hours and gives you around four hours of use, which is pretty brilliant, as you’ll only need to charge it once a week even with fairly heavy useage.

A small but genuinely useful detail is that the charging cable is branded. If you saw the number of random cables I have lying around, you’d understand why this matters.

OK, OK, you can see:

It means you can actually tell what belongs to what without plugging things in and hoping for the best, and it’s one of those little details that a lot of premium brands totally miss.

It uses a magnetic charger, which some people hate, but this one sticks properly and feels like a fair trade-off for a fully waterproof design.

Performance

This is where the Womanizer Next smashes it out of the park. The suction is strong but controlled, and the intensity builds in a much smoother way than a lot of other toys. You don’t get that sudden jump from nothing to too much that can ruin the experience, and at the top settings it made even my toes curl.

Orgasms during solo use were absolutely effortless, and during sex it was pretty bloody fantastic too. I don’t know what else to mention in this review? It works.

It’s easy to position, the seal is good, and it doesn’t numb you out after a few seconds. It just works. Very well.

How Noisy is the Womanizer Next?

It SAYS it’s meant to be near silent, but I’ll be honest – it’s not particularly quiet on the higher settings. You will hear it. On lower settings, it’s fairly discreet, but once you start turning it up, it becomes noticeable. Not ridiculous, not something that’s going to echo through the house, but definitely not silent as claimed.

It is quieter than a lot of clit suckers, but if noise is your main concern, I would still choose the LELO Sona 3 or the Namii over this. Check out our guide to quiet sex toys for some more suggestions.

How The Womanizer Next Compares With Other Premium Options

Compared to the LELO Sona 3, the Womanizer Next is just as strong and I found it easier to handle, especially during sex. The Sona 3 has more intensity levels, is smaller, quieter and has app connectivity, but I feel like it’s also a bit more specific in how you need to position it and you don’t get the same ‘put it down and forget about it’ ease.

The Biird Namii is still one I really like, particularly for grinding into on my front, and it’s a great option for beginners due to the soft feel and cute look. But it doesn’t really come close to the LELO or the Womanizer in terms of suction power.

Price and Value

It is expensive. There’s no way around that. Although you’re likely to find it cheaper than RRP on sites like Lovehoney (where you can also get 20% off with the code SEXTOYREVIEW20) the full price of the Womanizer Next is £189.99.

If you already own a decent suction toy, this isn’t going to completely change your life. It does give you mind-blowing orgasms, but at this point that’s kind of expected from a good clitoral suction toy! However, if you want something that feels more refined, easier to use, and just generally less annoying, it does justify the price.

If my Womanizer Next clit sucker died, I would go right out and buy a new one (although I would obviously claim on the five year warranty first).

Pros and Cons of The Womanizer Next review

Pros and Cons of The Womanizer Next

The biggest strengths of the Womanizer Next air pulse toy are the smooth intensity controls, the strong suction, the ‘Smart Silence’ contact sensor, and how easy it is to use. It feels well made, well thought out, and genuinely enjoyable for masturbation or partnered sex.

On the downside, it’s larger than most alternatives, and won’t necessarily be the next choice for a beginner. It’s not the quietest clit sucker I’ve tried, there’s no app control (if that’s something you want).

Is the Womanizer Next worth it?

If you want a high-end clitoral stimulator that removes a lot of the usual frustrations and just works without effort, the Womanizer Next is truly one of the best clitoral suction toys out there. You can buy the Womanizer Next from Lovehoney.

Womanizer Next FAQ

Is the Womanizer Next quiet?

It might claim to be, but the truth is that it’s not really quiet on higher settings. It’s fine on low, but once you turn it up you will hear it. Not ridiculous, but not silent either.

Is it better than the LELO Sona 3?

Depends what you want. There’s not a lot in it in terms of intensity. The Sona 3 is smaller, quieter and has app control. The Womanizer Next is easier to use and, I think, better during sex.

Does it have patterns?

No, and I love it for that. You set the intensity and it stays there.

Is the Womanizer Next good for beginners?

It’s easy to use; you don’t need experience to operate or use it, but it’s expensive. If you’re not sure about suction toys, you could start cheaper (check out this list of sub-£25 clit suckers for inspiration) and upgrade later.

Is it worth the price?

If you want something refined and easy to use, yes, it’s an investment in orgasms. If you already own a decent clitoral suction toy, it’s more of an upgrade than a necessity.
