A lot of people I know seem to see male masturbators as a bit icky, and I’ve spent most of my life thinking of them as a bit grubby. It’s a bizarre and unfounded opinion, especially when you consider the very positive view society seems to have of female sex toys.
Whether this is because men make more of a mess than women, or because we’re less likely to get together and talk about our latest toys (or, god forbid, our feelings) I don’t know, but seeing how much fun women can have made me jealous, so I decided to dive into this world.
I Got Hold of a Tenga Egg Disposable Male Masturbator to Review

Tenga is a large men’s sex toy brand. They make male masturbators, cock rings and Tenga Eggs.
Bought singly, Tenga Eggs are relatively cheap toys, costing around £10 for one. You can also buy a box of six eggs, for around £50. Bear in mind however that they’re really not designed to be reusable, no matter what the official description says, so if you get into them the cost could well add up as well as being pretty bad for the environment.
There are a whole load of different designs, with different textured silicone bumps inside which offer different sensations. I bought an Easy Beat Tenga Egg model ‘Misty‘, and was keen to crack open the hard plastic egg that it came in and see what all the fuss was about.
What’s Inside The Tenga Egg?

Inside the plastic egg – which is a big gimmicky for a one-use toy you’re not going to store, but maybe I’ll reuse it at Easter – you get the Tenga Egg masturbator/sleeve, and a sachet of lube.
The toy itself is just an egg shaped hollow piece of silicone with a hole in one end, and a lot of lumps and bumps to provide texture inside. The lumps and bumps differ between models in a ‘collect and try them all’ type scenario. Turned inside out, the Tenga Egg ‘Misty’ male masturbator looks a bit like a big lychee.
My first impression was that it was very small, although it turned out to be very stretchy.

Once it had some lube inside, I popped it on my penis, and instantly got distracted by how daft my cock looks with a white floppy hat, which didn’t help the mood. But it felt nice, in a wet squishy way.
To use it, you do what you normally do with your hand when masturbating, and the egg stretches up and down your penis, with the textured inside of the egg supposedly giving you a much nicer feeling than you get from your own dry hand.

Experience with the Tenga Egg
Personally, I didn’t really ‘get’ the Tenga Egg experience.
Although stretchy, the egg did feel tight, and reminded me of wearing a condom badly and feeling a bit trapped at the end. I should mention that I’m not circumcised, so it may be that if you are then everything feels very different without normally having a foreskin to help prevent uncomfortable friction between hands and glans.
I’ve also got a larger than average penis, so maybe that didn’t help.

On the plus side, after use the egg was still intact, and could easily be used again, although I’m not sure how many times yet.
In Summary
It was quite pleasant, but really didn’t add anything to the experience of having a wank and it’s certainly nothing like penetrative sex or a blow job. Also I didn’t find it as nice a feeling as a reusable masturbator like the Arcwave Pow, plus there’s the environmental cost of chucking it away each time.
However they are very cheap – so there’s really no harm in trying one if you fancy the idea – and it’s maybe worth a go just to admire your willy in a hat.
Where to Buy Tenga Eggs
