What Is The We-Vibe Melt 2?
The We-Vibe Melt 2 is a premium (£100+) app-controlled clitoral suction toy designed primarily to make clitoral stimulation during partnered sex significantly easier and more practical.

Using pressure-wave technology rather than traditional vibration, the Melt 2 delivers focused clitoral stimulation through a flatter, slimmer body shape than many competing suction toys. We-Vibe Melt: In The Box
On opening the box you are presented with the toy, and below it are a pouch, instructions for use and setting the travel lock, and a USB charger.
It’s the same magnetic charger that the We-Vibe Nova 2 rabbit uses, which is handy because I can’t tell you how much I don’t need another charger in my cable box, and brands that have different chargers for different toys for no discernible reason is one of my pet peeves. Well done, We-Vibe.
Using The We-Vibe Melt During Sex
Obviously the first thing we had to do – after charging for 90 minutes – was to put it to the test during sex.
The first thing I noticed about the Melt 2 is how slim and flat it feels compared to some other premium clitoral suction toys, and how large the mouth is.
That might not sound particularly exciting until you actually try using suction toys during penetrative sex and realise many of them become an awkward logistical challenge. They’re either too bulky or difficult to hold, the controls are awkwardly placed or the mouth is too small and the smallest of movements knocks it out of the way.
The Melt 2 is different; it has a large mouth, and sits close to the body so it stays in place surprisingly well and is easy to reposition without completely ruining the moment. The controls are placed on the back.
Like the Womanizer Next, it uses Smart Silence technology which means when contact with the body is lost, it stops working. This means you can toss it aside during sex once you’ve had your orgasm without fiddling with buttons to turn it off and it shuts off completely after a period of inactivity (you can set this in the app).
From these features alone, it’s very easy to see why the Melt 2 has become such a popular couples toy.
Power-wise, it’s good. Very good, actually. But if you already own something like the Womanizer Next, you can tell the Melt 2 isn’t quite aiming for the same level of brute-force intensity.
That said, the Melt 2 still absolutely delivers. If you want to experience more orgasms during sex, this is the way to do it!
App, Controls & Smart Silence
The local app control on the Melt 2 is straightforward and easy to use in local play mode. Connection was stable during testing and the controls responded quickly without random disconnects or Bluetooth tantrums. Realistically though, I suspect most people will end up using the physical buttons most of the time because they’re easy to reach during use, and who wants to be faffing around on their phone while they’re getting busy?
Our experience of using the We-Vibe app for long distance control wasn’t as good; there’s no video call mode and no way to provide instant feedback. However as this toy is really aimed at couples in the same room, I am happy to overlook the app performance.
Control wise, there are five buttons. On/up, Off/down, back and forward arrow buttons to scroll through the patterns that I don’t think anyone actually uses, and the Bluetooth connection button. Really, the up and down buttons are all you need and I would happily do without the others if such a toy was made and priced accordingly. Accidentally hitting the arrow buttons and cycling into a different pattern when all you wanted was a slight intensity increase is mildly tragic.
The Smart Silence/contact activation feature – also found on the Womanizer Next – is genuinely useful, rather than gimmicky. The toy only activates when in contact with the body, which helps reduce noise and stops it aggressively buzzing away on the bedside table while you’re repositioning yourself or taking a breather, or fumbling with the buttons while a small bleary-eyed child bursts in after a nightmare.
It’s still not as whisper-quiet as the LELO SONA 3, but it’s significantly more discreet and refined than older suction toys. Unless you have paper thin walls and nosey housemates, I think it’s probably fine.
We-Vibe Melt 2 vs Other Top Clitoral Suction Toys
At this point I appear to own enough premium clitoral suction toys to start categorising them by scenario like wine pairings, which probably means I’ve lost perspective entirely (you can see a full round up of clit suckers here).
But genuinely, they all fill slightly different roles and the We-Vibe Melt 2 may well become our default toy during sex simply because the design makes so much practical sense.

Is The We-Vibe Melt 2 A Good Buy?
If you’re looking for one clitoral suction toy primarily for use with a partner, the Melt 2 is the best option I’ve tried so far. It doesn’t dominate every category individually. It isn’t the most powerful suction toy on the market and it isn’t the quietest either.
What it is, however, is one of the few clitoral suction toys that genuinely feels designed around real-world partnered use. The slim body, larger nozzle opening and easy positioning make a huge difference during penetrative sex.
Will it be the clitoral suction toy I automatically reach for when I’m on my own? Probably not. The Womanizer Next is smoother, the LELO SONA 3 is quieter, and the Biird Namii is easy to use hands-free.
Will I definitely be keeping this one in my bedside drawer for partnered play? Absolutely. As long as you’re not too worried about complete silence (although the instant cut out feature is neat) then the We-Vibe Melt 2 is likely to be a game changer.
