Honey Pistil Review: A Licking Oral Sex Toy With Suction Cup

The Honey Pistil sex toy was sent to me by LuvlyPlay for review. This post contains affiliate links.

I’d seen the Honey Pistil – an unusual toy combining a flicking silicone tongue with a suction chamber – mentioned online and I wanted to try one out to see what it was like.

I’ve reviewed a lot of clitoral suction toys, vibrators and so-called oral sex simulators over the years, and most of them promise some variation of ‘realistic licking’ or ‘mind-blowing suction’. Sometimes they are actually mind-blowing, but to date none of them have actually been anything like oral sex.

Would the Honey Pistil earn that title?

Honey Pistil Review: The Oral Sex Toy That Nearly Got There

Erm, well. I don’t think it delivered what I personally need for orgasm, but I also don’t think it was a terrible toy.

What Is the Honey Pistil?

The Honey Pistil is a suction cup toy with a tongue-style clitoral stimulator.

It has two separate controls: one button operates the suction (three levels), and the other controls the tongue movement (three speeds, six patterns). The silicone tongue flicks up and down in a licking-style motion, while the suction chamber creates pressure around the clitoral area and you control them separately for different sensations.

The Honey Pistil is what is known as a white-label sex toy and is made in and shipped from China.

This doesn’t automatically make it bad; white-label sex toys are very common, and I’ve written before about what white labelling means. In simple terms, a manufacturer makes the base product and different companies sell it under their own branding. You can find the same item sold by other retailers, including The Bad Peach where it appears to be one of their signature toys.

At the time of writing, LuvlyPlay was selling the Honey Pistil for around $10 less than The Bad Peach. It was priced at around $59, and LuvlyPlay offered free shipping on orders over $50, so this product qualified.

Is The Honey Pistil a White-Label Sex Toy?

Please note, I received this as a review sample. Unlike some other retailers I recommend on here, I have not personally ordered from LuvlyPlay as a paying customer, so I can’t comment on their customer service, returns process or how they handle problems.

The toy arrived safely, the packaging was decent and delivery was on time. But as with any retailer you haven’t used before, I’d always suggest doing your own research before handing over your card details, especially with items coming from overseas.

Delivery and Packaging

As mentioned, the Honey Pistil from LuvlyPlay ships from China, so don’t expect Amazon Prime levels of instant gratification. Mine was dispatched on 3 June and arrived on 11th June, which I thought was reasonable.

The packaging also surprised me. White-label toys can sometimes arrive in very flimsy boxes but this one was sturdy and well presented with a sleeve, box, pouch and magnetic charger.

The best bit, however, was the slogan on the box:

Honey Pistil – give you sexy hands.

“Honey Pistil - give you sexy hands.”

Will it make my hands sexier? Will it give me new seductive hand powers? Is there a secret manicure setting I haven’t found yet?

Who knows. But it made me laugh, and it’s more memorable than half the luxury wellness nonsense brands put on their boxes.

Features Of The Honey Pistil

The Honey Pistil combines two different types of stimulation. The first is the tongue mechanism, a silicone tongue that moves up and down in a flicking motion, designed to mimic licking. It doesn’t feel exactly like oral sex, because obviously it doesn’t. It’s a sex toy. It does not have the softness or the enthusiasm.

But as oral-style toys go, the tongue movement is one of the more convincing attempts I’ve tried.

The second feature is the suction chamber. This creates a pulsing suction effect around the clitoral area. It works like a little pussy pump, creating pressure and a seal which heightens sensation, while the tongue moves underneath.

The toy is magnetic USB rechargeable and has an IPX6 water-resistance rating. This means it should be fine for rinsing and shower use, but I wouldn’t submerge it in the bath.

It’s also described as quiet. It’s not the loudest toy I’ve ever used, and the level of noise depends a lot on how well the suction seal is working. If the seal breaks, you get more of that unmistakable suction toy sound. It’s not outrageously loud, but I wouldn’t call it silent or truly discreet either. It’s fine.

Using the Honey Pistil

Using the Honey Pistil: Review

The Honey Pistil is much bigger than I expected. It’s not a dinky little device that fits neatly in your palm, but a more substantial bit of kit.

It also isn’t a toy I could just slap into place and immediately get on with. Positioning matters a lot with this one and if you get it wrong, it can be uncomfortable.

Even when it was close but not in exactly the right spot, it felt pleasant but slightly vague, even with lube (which I’d definitely recommend using). I think I’d prefer a slightly longer tongue, because it was tricky to get it to make good contact with my clitoris. When I did get it right, the sensation was much better, but it took more concentration than I usually put into masturbation.

The best position I found was lying on my side and using my thighs to help clamp the toy in place once I’d found the right angle. That helped keep it steady and meant I didn’t have to constantly adjust it with my hand.

This is not a toy for anyone who wants instant, effortless, no-faff stimulation. It has a learning curve, and the shape means you may need to experiment with angles, pressure and positions before it feels right – and if you have a smaller/higher clitoris, it might not reach at all!

Does It Feel Like Oral Sex?

Sort of, but also not really.

The Honey Pistil is probably one of the closer attempts I’ve tried at creating an oral-style sensation. The tongue feels nice. It gives a soft, rhythmic, licking-style sensation that is definitely different from vibration or suction.

Using the Honey Pistil in hand

However, it still doesn’t feel like receiving oral sex from an actual person. It can’t adapt to your reactions, change rhythm naturally or respond to what your body is doing. It just does its little mechanical tongue thing and hopes for the best.

In fairness, that’s true of every oral sex simulator. They are all trying to recreate something that is very difficult to recreate mechanically.

The Honey Pistil does a better job than some, but I wouldn’t say it replaces oral sex. Then again, oral sex alone without internal stimulation doesn’t usually make me orgasm either, so perhaps that makes it accurate.

Did the Honey Pistil Make Me Orgasm?

No, and not for lack of trying. I tried the Honey Pistil in different positions, different settings, different angles and different amounts of pressure over several occasions. I also tried bringing in internal stimulation, although the challenge is that the Honey Pistil is quite bulky around the suction cup area, and because it needs to sit in a fairly specific position, it can be awkward to combine with an internal toy.

Did the Honey Pistil Make Me Orgasm?

With lube, the toy felt much better. The tongue was smoother and more pleasant, and the sensation was definitely nice. I could feel myself building. There were moments where I thought it might get me there.

But then the suction would become too much and get slightly painful, or the tongue just wouldn’t quite be fast or intense enough for my preferences.

In the end, I gave up and reached for a good old clitoral suction toy.

What I Liked

I liked the tongue motion. That is the strongest part of this toy for me. It feels different from a standard vibrator, and with lube, the sensation is genuinely pleasant.

I also liked that the suction and tongue can be controlled separately. There are three suction strengths, with the highest being far too strong for me, and the tongue has three speeds and six patterns.

The packaging was better than expected, delivery was reasonable and the toy itself feels decent enough in the hand.

What I Didn’t Like

The positioning is fiddly and the tongue movement also wasn’t quite fast enough for me. I wanted it to go a bit harder, a bit quicker, a bit more decisively. Instead, it stayed in the ‘that’s nice’ zone without quite reaching the ‘yes, keep doing exactly that’ zone.

The suction became almost painful when I was close. It works, but for me it wasn’t pleasurable once things started building. If anything, it interrupted the momentum rather than pushing me over the edge. There’s also no ‘down’ button; you have to cycle through them to get back to where you started when you overshoot your preferred mode.

While I liked the general sensation of the Honey Pistil, I didn’t find it effective enough for solo masturbation. If I want a reliable orgasm, I would reach for one of my favourite suction toys like the Womanizer Next or one of my favourite wand vibrators like the Lovense Domi 2, which never let me down.

Who Might Like the Honey Pistil?

You might like the Honey Pistil if you enjoy oral-style stimulation, teasing, build-up and clitoral suction toys, but don’t need very strong or fast stimulation to orgasm.

You might not like it if you want a toy that works instantly, hate fiddly positioning, have a harder-to-reach or less sensitive clitoris, dislike suction or need powerful wand-style stimulation to get there.

Final Verdict On The Honey Pistil Oral Sex Toy

I couldn’t orgasm with the Honey Pistil, even after trying several times, using lube, changing positions, attempting to combine it with internal stimulation and even getting my partner involved. It got me close, but never quite there.

So, is the Honey Pistil a bad toy? No.

Is it a reliable solo orgasm machine for me? Also no.

It’s an interesting white-label tongue vibrator with a pleasant sensation, but I’m afraid that it hasn’t earned a place in my regular orgasm toolkit.

Still, I’ll give it this: it did not give me sexy hands, but it did give me something to write about.
