The box, which in this case was dark blue but would depend on what elemental colourway you opt for, opens up like a set of fancy French doors revealing the toy beneath nestled in removable foam to protect it.
Below the wand, the box has a pull-out drawer containing the instructions, silky bag and USB charging cable.
There’s no way you’re throwing this box away. Even if you didn’t want to use it for the MYLO wand, you could repurpose it as a jewellery or make up box, or even a dedicated space for your sex toy charging cables. I do love a good box!
The wand itself is made from body-safe, medical-grade silicone and feels soft to touch and high quality in the hand. The MYLO Wand in Use: Our Experience
Used as a traditional external wand for either solo or partnered play, the MYLO performs well. The bulb head delivers broad, satisfying clitoral stimulation, while the shaft targets the g-spot if used internally.
The independent controls make it easy to tailor the experience without constantly cycling through settings. The curve of the handle means it can be gripped comfortably between your thighs and it actually stays in place well if used during sex.
In use, the vibrations feel deep and rumbly rather than sharp or buzzy. This isn’t a sprint to the finish line in record time, as some air-pulse toys can be. Instead, the MYLO feels more measured and deliberate. Sometimes you don’t want quick and dirty. Sometimes you want something reliable, steady, and capable of taking its time.
The flexible tail is the most unusual element of the design and also the least immediately intuitive. It contains a small bullet vibrator and can sit neatly against the shaft or be pulled away and allowed to ‘dangle’ freely.
Although it could potentially be used for vaginal or anal stimulation, it might be tricky to manouvere.
In practice, the tail works best as a secondary, optional source of external stimulation, dragged over the body to create a tingling sensation perhaps. It can add a more focused vibration alongside the main head, or simply be ignored if it doesn’t suit your preferences. It’s a pain that the magnetic charger is yet another different design – I have a whole drawer dedicated to these chargers now I think! – but as it’s the first toy from this brand I’ll let it pass.
Although we’re still on the first charge (impressive!) the charging cable can probably just stay in the wall – the MYLO wand feels like a toy designed to keep by the bed and be used regularly, not something you need to mentally prepare or have the day off for.
