There are a lot of male masturbators on the market right now. We’ve tested everything from budget manual strokers and TENGA sleeves to a £400 sex doll, and one thing we’ve learned is that not every toy is trying to achieve the same thing.

After testing it, I’m not entirely convinced it’s a masturbator in the traditional sense of the word and the more I used it, the more I started to suspect that Blowmotion have created an edging toy and marketed it as a masturbator.

Which would certainly explain why some owners describe it as one of the best sex toys they’ve ever used, while others seem completely baffled by it.

First Impressions Of The Blowmotion Warming Vibrating Male Masturbator

The first thing that struck me about the Blowmotion is how small it is; having just tested the Blowmotion Suction Vibrating Male Masturbator 2.0 which is much bigger and substantially heavier.

That’s not necessarily a criticism. In fact, the compact size is one of its biggest selling points. Unlike some male sex toys that require a dedicated storage cupboard and their own charging station, this is genuinely discreet and easy to travel with.

The build quality feels decent too. The outer shell is sturdy, the controls are straightforward and it certainly doesn’t feel cheap.

What surprised me more was the internal design, as the sleeve is only around three inches deep, which means most of the stimulation is focused on the head of the penis rather than the shaft as usual.

The Fit

This was probably my biggest issue with the toy. It wasn’t painful, but I never felt completely sure I’d reached the end of the sleeve.

The design traps air inside, creating a constant feeling that there might be more room available somewhere inside the toy. I found myself wondering whether I’d actually reached the end or whether there was still another inch hidden away. Would I buy it purely for the heating function? No. But it contributes positively to the overall experience.

The Vibrations

This toy has three vibration intensities and six vibration patterns which you access with the + and – buttons. Most male masturbators rely on friction, texture, suction or movement, however the Blowmotion Warming Vibrating Masturbator relies entirely on vibration and that’s where I think expectations need managing.

The sensation isn’t especially ‘realistic’. It doesn’t feel like oral sex as the product details might suggest, and it doesn’t feel like a traditional stroker.

The best way I can describe it is that it feels like a novelty massage concentrated entirely on the head of your penis, which was actually quite pleasant. The problem is that ‘pleasant’ and ‘sexual’ aren’t always the same thing.

For most of the session, it felt nice rather than intensely arousing. There wasn’t much friction, there wasn’t any thrusting, and there wasn’t the sense of progression I normally associate with a good stroker.

One thing that fascinated me afterwards was the reading customer reviews over on Lovehoney; at the time of writing, the Blowmotion sits at around 3.8/5 from hundreds of reviews with the majority being five stars, or one star, and little in between.

The people who love it seem to absolutely love it, and the people who don’t get on with it seem completely baffled by its existence.

I can understand both reactions. If you enjoy edging, prolonged stimulation and hands-free play, I can absolutely see why this might become a favourite.

Many of the five-star reviews describe spending a while experimenting with the warming and vibration settings before eventually reaching very intense orgasms. Viewed through that lens, my experience makes much more sense.

If you’re expecting a compact Fleshlight with added vibrations, however, you’re probably going to be disappointed.

Which One Would I Buy?

If you want the closest thing to traditional masturbation, I’d still recommend a Fleshlight . They’re cheap, simple, effective and feel good from the moment you start using them.

If you’re curious about suction technology, The One Suction Stroker remains my favourite compared to the Blowmotion toys, except when it comes to cleaning.

The Blowmotion Warming Vibrating Male Masturbator isn’t a bad toy at all. The warming function works well, the vibrations are pleasant, it’s discreet, quiet and hands-free.

At the same time, the fit won’t suit everyone, the sensation is much gentler than many people will expect and it never quite feels as exciting as the marketing suggests.

At around £60/$60 in the sale, it’s not outrageously expensive as far as sex toys for men are concerned, but it’s still a lot of money to spend on a toy that feels this niche and could be a bit of a gamble.

If the idea of lying back, going hands-free and enjoying a slow build-up sounds appealing, you may genuinely love it.

If your usual approach is more ‘I’d quite like to orgasm before my housemate gets home from work’, there are probably better ways to spend your money.

For me, it’s an interesting experiment rather than an essential purchase. The search for my ideal vibrating masturbator continues.
